Venture into the outdoors. Electric power gives you the freedom to go new distances without the range anxiety.

Every Wrangler 4xe is delivered with a Level I (120V) charging system that plugs into a typical household outlet. You can get an even faster charge with an available safe, simple-to-use Level II (240V) charger like the Mopar® Branded TurboDX Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger. You can utilize Qmerit, our approved partner, for installation. The Level II charger can fully charge the Wrangler 4xe battery in approximately 2 hours versus 12 hours.

eSave Mode prioritizes the 2.0L engine. This saves the battery charge for later use. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off. It can also be reconfigured to increase the battery charge as well.

When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.

Due to its electrified capabilities, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe was named 2021 Green SUV of the year.

Quiet electric power means you can truly take in the natural sights and sounds around you. But your 4xe is unique and you may hear some unfamiliar sounds.

What engine powers the Wrangler 4xe?

The first aspect that we want to discuss with you about the Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the engine that is underneath the hood. This is probably the biggest thing that is driving attention towards this vehicle, which is why we want to tell you why it's so impressive. The engine itself is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, which comes connected to an engine-mounted motor generator unit and a 400-volt lithium-ion nickel manganese cobalt battery pack. This engine can produce as much as 470 pound-feet of torque and 375 horsepower. You'll also be getting an eight-speed automatic transmission that has a transmission-mounted motor generator unit integrated into it. You'll be able to get all of the capability your life demands without any issues along the way.

What about the Wrangler 4xe's E Selec Modes?

One of the huge reasons why the Wrangler 4xe is going to impress you is the fact that you can really customize your drives. This means more than just off-roading, this is your everyday driving that you can change at will. We're talking about the E Selec Modes, which includes three different modes of operation. These buttons are mounted on the instrument panel, just left of the steering wheel. The first mode is Hybrid, which is the default mode that blends in torque from the engine and the electric motor, and focuses on using battery power first. The second mode is Electric, focusing on electric power only until the battery lacks the proper amount of charge, and in that case, it engages the 2.0-liter engine. The final mode is eSave, prioritizing the 2.0-liter engine, saving the battery for urban areas, or even off-roading.

What is off-roading like with the Wrangler 4xe?

When it comes to any Jeep, you are likely curious about how it can hold up with off-roading. We're pleased to say that the Wrangler 4xe is up for any challenge. The addition of electric motors gives you more availability of torque, along with a more controlled and precise driving experience. You'll even find full-time 4x4 systems, and a Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case. Other important things to consider include up to 30 inches of water fording, skid plates, front and rear tow hooks, off-road wheels, and around 10.8 inches of ground clearance when you get the Rubicon model.
