This features a rear axle-mounted electric motor powered by a rechargeable battery pack and a 1.3L turbocharged I-4 engine. While the front wheels are powered by the turbocharged engine, the electric motor provides power to the rear wheels, working together to provide the confidence that all-wheel drive provides. The PHEV setup gives the Hornet R/T and R/T Plus 383 lb-ft of torque and 285-plus horsepower. Over 180 lb-ft of the torque from the PHEV system is available instantly thanks to the electric power. Power is sent to the wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. The R/T comes with the new PowerShot feature, which gives a 15-second burst of 25 extra horsepower to provide exciting performance.
